Lewisham Thriving Communities Evaluation Report
This year Entelechy Arts coordinated Lewisham Thriving Communities, a new project which through social prescribing enabled residents of Lewisham aged 18+ to participate in new creative activities during London Borough of Culture 2022. Dr Emily Bradfield’s evaluation of this project is now available to read.
The report talks through the outcomes of the project and shares 3 primary recommendations on how to take forward social prescribing:
Time – social prescribing projects take time to build relationships, process referrals and enable meaningful participant engagement.
Expertise – organisations need knowledge, expertise and experience to deliver quality social prescribing projects. Working with participants who have health vulnerabilities is more complex, and requires organisations to have more resources.
Collaboration – social prescribing projects require collaboration, partnership working and clear communication to function well. Relationships between link workers and VCSE organisations need to be close.
